This is the place where I am to give the tell-all of who I am. As for any of us, this is quite impossible. But for the sake of this page, I will simply give a brief synopsis of the details.
My entire adult life has been about learning. How often I wish I had loved school as a teenager as much as I do now - if I could go and stay forever, I would. But I have discovered that there is as much to be learned in the living of one’s days as there is in the pages of another’s books (says the book addict). It feels sometimes that my true education of Self began when graduate school ended, with that stopover providing the doorway to my love of, and devotion to, personal evolution.
As an aside…my favorite grad school quote: “Therapy (or growth) lies in the opposite direction.” (Dr. Bollet, Counselor Ed, UCF).
I am fascinated by the journey of waking up. By the psyche and soul’s dual roles in the process. By the concept and practice of Balance. And most of all by the Mystery of the Spiritual Self…the million and one ways humans have found to approach, embrace, explain and embody this aspect of who we are…our yearning for this Beloved with no face. Somewhere in my inner poetry this search is encoded, for it has written a great deal of my life script.
Inner Poetry itself, along with my other creative endeavor - Full Dimensional Living, is the product of this search. The purpose of this website is to express and share the journey, to inspire and encourage the creative, authentic and spiritual expression of one’s Inner Poetry in the world. If each of us tapped into our own greatest gifts, our unique expression of the Divine, what a powerful transformation of all life would be had. It isn’t an easy road, this one to authentic living, to knowing our Truth within the Mystery…and it certainly isn’t one that ends in perfection, but it is the only one worth taking. (In my humble opinion).
Okay, so I said I’d give the details, and have far strayed…so here are just a few:
I started out as a high school teacher. Got my MA in Counseling. Certification in Life Coaching. Wrote a spiritual novel. Was ED of an event production company focused on personal growth seminars. Taught stress reduction, creative writing and life enhancement courses to everyone from at-risk teens, to women in addictions recovery, to government and corporate employees, to individuals seeking their own inner poetry. Produced a Visualization CD. Am Co-founder of Full Dimensional Living. Founder of Innerpoetry.com. And the very best of all…I’m a mom.
So, there it is in a nutshell. Yeah, right.
The greatest and most beautiful thing about our Inner Poetry? It is as endless and deep as the great Mystery itself. So I keep sinking in, taking the walk, learning…and hopefully, growing.
